Water Your Christmas Tree Every Day
It is fun to decorate for the winter holidays, but holiday decorations can increase your risk of a home fire. As you deck the halls this season, be fire smart.

When you’re decorating with live trees, make sure you keep the tree watered. If a dry tree comes in contact with a flame, it can catch on fire in fewer than 10 seconds and spread quickly throughout your home. Let's Put a Freeze on Winter Fires!

The risk of having a home fire increases during the winter months: December, January and February. 

To help teach the public about winter fire hazards and ways to prevent them, The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) are teaming up to promote “Put a Freeze on Winter Fires."

Welcome the New Candidates!

New Fire Department Candidates standing in front of the fire truckThe Riverside Fire Department Fall Academy class consists of 7 Cadets. From Left to Right Louis Leone, Chris Agne, Anthony LaSpina, Mike Angelopoulos, Dave Pierdnock, Conner Sheehan, and John Valente. They are in Week 11 of their 25 week training Academy. They are scheduled to graduate on February 27, 2017. All members have been performing well and we look forward to them becoming active members of the department.
