Volunteers Needed: Village Boards and Commissions

Riverside Logo with Tower in the Background

The Village of Riverside relies on the expertise of many dedicated resident volunteers who serve on various Village Boards and Commissions throughout the year.  Most boards and commissions meet on a bi-monthly or quarterly basis, but some meet monthly.  Terms range from 2 to 5 years.  Residents serve on the:

Board of Fire & Police Commissioners

Economic Development Commission

Historical Commission

Landscape Advisory Commission

Parks & Recreation Board

Planning and Zoning Commission

Police Pension Board

Preservation Commission and

Riverside TV Commission.

Presently, there are openings on the Landscape Advisory Commission and Parks & Recreation Board.  Please visit the village website to learn more about what these commissions do and to see if you might be interested in serving as a board or commission member.  Better yet, attend a meeting and meet the commissioners.  All commission meetings are open to the public and meeting agendas and minutes are available on the village website.  The Village Board is grateful to all of the current and previous board and commission members for their service to the community.
