Train Depot Platform Rehabilitation Project

Metra Train in Riverside

The Train Depot Platform Rehabilitation Project is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.  The scheduled work will include removal and replacement of existing staircases with ADA compliant features, new hand railings and exposed aggregate sidewalk, drainage repairs, and some removal and reinstallation of existing pavers.

The contractor is scheduled to start work on the North platform first. As a result, NO PARKING will be permitted along North side platform parking lot until all scheduled work is completed. We are anticipating that work on the North platform will be completed by October 8.  Once all work is completed on the North Platform, the contractor will move operations and begin work on the South platform/Train Station area. Access to the Train Station and pay parking station will be available throughout the project, but please allow additional time as certain staircases or the sidewalk between the Train Station and Commuter Parking Lot will be closed during construction. Please note that at least one staircase will be open for pedestrian traffic during construction operations. Signs and barricades will be used to direct commuters to the nearest open staircase. Estimated project completion date is November 24, 2018, weather permitting.
