Monarch on Swamp Milkweed - Riverside Road - Photo by Mike Collins - 8-1-2019

Thank you landscape volunteers! The ongoing partnership between the Frederick Law Olmsted Society and Village of Riverside is yielding tangible results in terms of ecosystem restoration. Village Forester Michael Collins shared this beautiful photo of a Monarch butterfly on a Swamp Milkweed near Olmsted and Riverside Road.

Come out and be a part of the solution by participating in upcoming Landscape Workdays along the Des Plaines River on September 21, October 5 and 12!  We will be weeding areas along the Des Plaines in addition to planting native sedges along the river banks.

Share your photos of #NaturebyDesign.
