Bicycle Pavement Markings Installed

Forest Avenue is a designated local bike route that connects to the new bike trail along First Avenue and the Salt Creek Trail.  To emphasize this, the Village has had “sharrows” marked on the pavement on Forest Avenue to indicate that the road is a shared lane used by both cars and bicyclists.  Installation of the sharrows was a recommendation of the Village Wide Traffic Safety Study conducted in 2016.

Parking is still permitted on Forest Avenue in accordance with posted signs.  The sharrows are simply a reminder that motorists and bicyclists need to share the road.

Please stop by the Village office to pick up a free copy of the Bicycling in Riverside brochure which includes a map of Riverside's designated bike routes and important safety tips.
