The Village of Riverside boasts of being one of the first planned communities (est. 1869) and has several unique and defining features including curvilinear streets, ample setbacks, and pastoral parkways with open lawn and naturalistic groupings of trees interspersed throughout the Village.
Frederick Law Olmsted
Frederick Law Olmsted, the Father of Landscape Architecture, was the creative mind behind this unique design, complimenting the community's historic value. In addition the Village features the architecture of several renowned architects, including Frank Lloyd Wright and William Le Baron Jenney.
