Comprehensive Annual Financial Report

State law requires that the Village prepare annual audited financial statements, however the Village chooses to prepare a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), which not only meets this legal requirement, but also provides additional introduction, narrative and statistical information.

In addition, we submit our CAFR to the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting program for an independent review to ensure that our CAFR meets the highest standards of financial reporting, adheres to generally accepted accounting principles, legal requirements, and that the document is easily readable and efficiently organized. The Village of Riverside has achieved this recognition 25 times since 1989, including the 2015 CAFR. We believe this document continues to meet the Certificate of Achievement Program's requirements.
