Public Notice Is Hereby Given that the Village of Riverside, Cook County, Illinois (the “Village”), will hold a public hearing on the 2nd day of November, 2023, at 7:00 o’clock P.M.  The hearing will be held in Room 4 at the Riverside Township Hall, 27 Riverside Road, Riverside, Illinois.  The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comments on the proposal to sell bonds of the Village in the amount of not to exceed $1,400,000 for the purpose of financing various capital projects in and for the Village.

Public Hearing - Proposed 2023 Tax Levy for the Village of Riverside and Riverside Public Library.
A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for the Village of Riverside for 2023 will be held on November 2, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in Room 4 of Township Hall located at 27 Riverside Road, Riverside, Illinois 60546. Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Karin Johns, Village Treasurer, at 27 Riverside Road, Riverside, Illinois 60546, phone number 708-447-2700. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2022 were $6,798,478. The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be to be levied for 2023 are $7,331,771. This represents a 7.84% increase over the previous year. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2022 were $775,959. The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2023 are $758,846. This represents a 2.21% decrease over the previous year. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2022 were $7,627,900. The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2023 are $8,090,616. This represents a 6.07% increase over the previous year.

Open House Public Information Meeting Notice for Quincy Street Improvements (Central Business District Streetscape Improvement Project) October 17, 2023
The Village of Riverside invites you to attend the Open House Public Information Meeting for the Phase I Engineering and Environmental Study for the proposed streetscape and resurfacing of Quincy Street from Riverside Road to the Central Business District Limits. The proposed improvements consist of streetscape and resurfacing of Quincy Street from Riverside Road to the Central Business District Limits. Additional improvements include curb bumpouts, curb and gutter modifications, decorative lighting, and sidewalk modifications. The purpose of this meeting is to present the proposed improvement plans and provide an opportunity for public comment. The Open House Public Meeting will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Riverside Parks & Recreation Facility 43 E. Quincy St. Riverside, IL 60546. The meeting will be conducted in an open house format, meaning interested persons can attend at any time between 4pm and 6pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to view exhibits and submit comments.
