[ARCHIVED] 2018 Construction

MWRD Salt Creek Intercepting Sewer Relining Project:  Kenny Construction began mobilizing for a project re-start on Thursday, May 10. Mobilization included implementing traffic control, detours and tent set-up on Riverside Road south of the BNSF tracks.  This project is weather dependent.  Relining activity must stop when significant rains occur.  When the MWRD TARP system is filled with stormwater, the contractor cannot work until the stored water is drawn down.  The projected completion date of this project is 3 - 4 months after the project resumes.

The First Division Street Resurfacing Project:  Work on this project began Friday, May 11, with concrete sawing of sections of sidewalk, curb and gutter and any other concrete items planned for replacement as part of the project. Removal and replacement of concrete items is projected to take three weeks.  Replacement and adjusting of sewer structures is planned for May 29 through June 15.  Milling of existing pavement surfaces and installation of new pavement is scheduled for the June 4 to June 29 with final landscape restoration scheduled for completion by July 6. The project schedule is weather sensitive and subject to change.  A construction notice has been delivered to all residents of the First Division.

The resurfacing of Barrypoint Road is being funded by a different source and is not part of this project. Barrypoint Road will be resurfaced later this year. During the project, First Division streets will be open to traffic but motorists are advised to exercise caution to avoid conflict with construction equipment or activity.
