The Riverside Police Department is proud to announce that Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Northeast Illinois Region, has selected Officer Brian Greenenwald to receive a special award for drunk driving enforcement.  MADD’s Northeast Illinois Law Enforcement Nomination Committee stated, “This special Heroes award is in statewide recognition of the significant contributions Officer Greenenwald has made to the fight against impaired driving.”

“There is no greater satisfaction as a police officer than to realize your accomplishments are making a difference in the community you serve,” said Chief Tom Weitzel. “Officer Greenenwald has demonstrated his commitment to improve safety on Illinois roadways and has no doubt saved thousands of lives.” The presentation was held in Springfield, Illinois on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

This is the fifth time Officer Greenenwald has received a MADD award for his DUI enforcement. Brian has made 596 DUI arrest to date and he is one of only 115 state certified DRE (Drug Recognition Experts) officers in the state of Illinois. Officer Greenenwald was hired in 2007.
