[ARCHIVED] Des Plaines River Level at Riverside

Des Plains River Swinging Bridge

Village staff has been monitoring the river level throughout the night. Staff will remain in contact with National Weather Service (NWS), Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) regarding the river level and the various systems running through Riverside. MWRD is monitoring outflows and their system that runs within Riverside. There will likely be minor flooding in the forest areas where Salt Creek flows into the Des Plaines River near 1st Avenue and Swan Pond will continue to take on water. The Village has closed the path along Swan Pond. It is anticipated that the path will remain closed for the next few days. Please visit the village website to view real time river level data by clicking on the link: Des Plaines River Level at Riverside.
