[ARCHIVED] Temporary Parking Changes Effective June 7

Temporary Parking During Construction

With the reopening of Commuter Lot 1, some temporary on-street parking spaces will be eliminated effective June 7.

Effective Friday, June 7, the following temporary spaces will no longer be available:

  • Spaces 210-217 - Just east of the Township Hall on the south side of Riverside Road;
  • Spaces 241-258 - In the St. Mary Parking Lot.

All other temporary spaces will remain available until construction near the Metra station is completed and Bloomingbank Road is reopened.  Please review the map of the temporary metered spots to familiarize yourself with the spaces that will be eliminated and those that will remain available.  Map of Temporary On-Street Parking Spaces.

The parking meter machine, located at the west end of the train station platform, will remain accessible throughout construction. Please remember to pay all appropriate meter fees or you may receive a $50 parking citation. You will need to remember the number of the space you park in and enter that number into the machine.  Payment can be made by cash, credit card, with your phone via app (PassportParking), website (www.m.ppprk.com) or by phone (708-716-0716).  The Zone for each of these options is 60546.  Signage explaining payment options is located above the pay machine. The metered spaces cost 25 cents per hour, and can be programmed for up to 24 hours at a time. Additional time may be purchased AFTER the meter expires.  These spaces are free on weekends, from midnight on Friday until midnight on Sunday, and on holidays.  Click here to see a short video on how to use the parking meter.

The Village apologizes for the inconvenience the downtown construction projects are creating for residents and commuters alike, but when they are completed, both residents and commuters will enjoy the improved parking lot and streetscape.  Please feel free to contact the Village at  708-447-2700 if you have questions or concerns.   To receive updates on the Village’s current construction projects, please follow us on Facebook @villageofriverside and sign up for Riverside eflashes at www.riverside.il.us.
