Riverside Police Department today released the impaired driving stats for 2016. These reports include the number of DUI arrests and a breakdown of individual categories involving DUI alcohol and DUI drugs. The report was prepared by Officer Brian Greenenwald, Riverside Police Department's impaired driving coordinator.
Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel stated, “There’s no doubt that in making over 136 DUI arrests in 2016 that the officers, in removing impaired drivers from the roadways, have undoubtedly saved lives. Drunk and drugged driving is a serious violent crime when a crash occurs. I’m so proud of each officer who is able to remove an impaired driver from the roadway before a crash occurs, preventing serious injury and death to other motorists traveling the same roadway”.
