[ARCHIVED] Annual Memorial Day Program Goes Virtual

American Flag in the distance with a branch on the side

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be able to gather for our customary Memorial Day program in Riverside this year; however, we can still honor our fallen and take time to reflect on the sacrifices made by all who have served this country and our community.

Riverside TV has put together a video compilation featuring highlights from Memorial Day programs held in the past and it will premier at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 25.  The program will be available on Comcast/Xfinity Channel 6, AT&T U-Verse Channel 99 (throughout the state of Illinois) and the Riverside TV YouTube and Facebook channels.

This year’s 2020 “Honored Riverside Veteran” is US Navy Commander and Doctor Joseph E. Troiani. Commander Troiani served in the US Navy for 32 1/2 Years with Navy Intelligence, the NCIS Department, and was also involved in tracking foreign submarines off the East Coast of the United States.  Doctor Troiani is also a US Navy psychologist helping veterans from Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and other war zones.  Presently, he is working with the Will County Health Department addressing stress related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you to Tom Sisulak and everyone at Riverside TV who worked so hard to put this program together.
