The Riverside Parks and Recreation Department currently has two job openings. 

The Summer Camp Counselors should have a genuine interest in working with children and providing a safe and fun atmosphere. This position works as part of team and must be willing to adapt, lead, and plan. Summer Camp Counselors work closely with and report directly to the Recreation Supervisor. Summer camp is a minimum of 10 week attendance commitment Monday – Friday; from June to August. Camp hours are 6:45am – 6:45pm, with a typical counselor shift of 7.5 hours. There may be opportunities for additional hours within Parks & Recreation classes and events. Upon hire applicants must pass CPR/First Aid training – provided by the Village of Riverside. Pay rate starts at $14.00 an hour.

The part-time School Year Counselor participates in program activities with enthusiasm while exercising leadership and responsibility in order to create a safe atmosphere. A School Year Counselor must work closely, cooperatively, and amicably with all staff members. School year counseling is a minimum of 38 weeks attendance commitment; from August to June. (The entire school year is approximately 38 weeks).Candidates must be at least 16 years old to apply. The Village provides CPR/First Aid Certification for all counselors. Valid Driver’s license preferred.

Hours can range from 6:45Am – 6:00PM Monday through Friday depending on placement. Hours can range from 5 to 30 per week. Total annual work will be between 10 – 999 hours. Starting rate $13.80.
