Recycling at Public Works- 3860 Columbus Blvd., Riverside
Residents may drop off clothing, textiles, electronics, small batteries, and CFL bulbs at Public Works, 3860 Columbus Blvd. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Village can accept these items thanks to our partnership and contract with Flood Brothers. All Home Depot and some Ace Hardware stores also accept CFL bulbs.
Cook County Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials – 15800 State St., South Holland
The drop-off site is located in the overflow parking lot on the north side of campus. Enter at a traffic signal on State Street. Accepted item categories include household items, electronics, clothing/textiles, small furniture, small appliances, Styrofoam, and personal healthcare equipment. Drug Collection Boxes
The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) accepts unused and expired medications via their Medsafe Drug Collection Boxes. The boxes are located near the main gate at three water reclamation plants (WRP) and in the lobby of the Main Office Building in Chicago. If a box is locked, please return it during the hours of operation. Please do not leave medication outside the box.
