[ARCHIVED] Riverside Police Partner with Sarah’s Inn Domestic Violence Shelter

CSO Holiday Drive

Riverside Police could not have been more pleased with the support they received from the community in toy donations for the Sarah’s Inn Holiday Gift Project.

Riverside Police could not have been more pleased with the support they received from the community in toy donations for the Sarah’s Inn Holiday Gift Project.

The Riverside Police Department delivered enough toys to fill an entire closet with donated toys from our generous community.  One caring resident even donated $1,300 in gift cards!

Each year the Riverside Police Department helps with this annual gift drive for families affected by domestic violence.

Sarah’s Inn volunteers create a holiday “gift shop” where women choose gifts for their children for free during this one-day event. This shop enables women to make their own decisions about which gifts their children would enjoy in a safe and supportive environment. This annual gift project has lifted the holiday spirits of over 300 children!

Sergeant Miller, who helped coordinate the event with Sarah’s Inn, said “The police and community support the fight against domestic violence. Everyone at Sarah’s Inn should be celebrated for the work they have done for domestic violence victims and the kids.”
