CONSTRUCTION NOTICE
Shenstone Road Utility Improvements and Road Reconstruction Project
October 23, 2023
Water Service Interruption
Please be advised that the Village’s contractor will be connecting a new section of water main at the intersection of Shenstone Road and Harlem Avenue. This work is expected to encompass a portion of the intersection on October 25th during working hours (7am-6pm) and full closures are expected.
In order to complete this work, water service lines will be temporarily placed out of service. A map is included below of the affected streets. The water shutoff will take place at 9:00 am, Wednesday, October 25th. During this time, water service will be shut off for approximately 4 hours. We suggest putting aside a few gallons of water to use during this time.
Please note the work may result in sediment, possibly containing lead, in the water supply. It is suggested that once the water service is reconnected, you first draw water from the bathtub or utility sink and run the cold water for at least 5-10 minutes. It is also suggested that you run cold water from each of your faucets for 1-2 minutes and afterward clean the faucet aerator screens.
The Village of Riverside is aware of the short-term disruption and inconvenience that will be caused by this project. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated and will directly affect the timely completion of the project.
