[ARCHIVED] Riverside Police increase traffic control and enforcement presence in first division

Police Car with Lights Turned on

On Thursday, June 22, Chief Weitzel issued a directive to have officers assigned to specific traffic enforcement and monitoring duties during certain times of the day in the area of the road closure on Barrypoint Road.  There has been an increased volume of traffic due to the detour.

Officers will be assigned to this area for the duration of the closure of Barrypoint Road.  A community service officer has also been in the area to assist with parking problems and parking issues that may obstruct traffic.

The police chief, public works director, and engineering firm staff have been on the scene of the first division sewer separation project daily in an attempt to help mitigate traffic and parking issues that arise.  This practice will continue throughout the project.
