[ARCHIVED] RPD Releases Mid-Year Crime Index Report

Text Crime Statistics with the police line running across

Riverside Police Department has released the 2017 midyear Crime Index, which is a statistical synopsis of all crimes mandated to be reported to the Illinois State Police. This report includes:

Overall Crime Index down 36.2% from 2016 (first six months) 

Criminal arrests down 23.5% (first six months) 

Thefts down 21.9% (first six months)

Burglary down 84.6% (first six months)

The police department received 7,327 calls for police response/service in the first six months of 2017.

"The Riverside Police Department’s mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of our community through a partnership with our residents.  Thank you to our residents for your support and cooperation to help us reduce crime in our Village,” Thomas Weitzel, Chief of Police.
