Riverside Police Department has released the 2017 midyear Crime Index, which is a statistical synopsis of all crimes mandated to be reported to the Illinois State Police. This report includes:
Overall Crime Index down 36.2% from 2016 (first six months)
Criminal arrests down 23.5% (first six months)
Thefts down 21.9% (first six months)
Burglary down 84.6% (first six months)
The police department received 7,327 calls for police response/service in the first six months of 2017.
