[ARCHIVED] Pavement Rejuvenation Work Thursday

Bio Seal Truck Pavement Rejuvenator

The Bioseal company will be applying a pavement rejuvenator to designated Village streets on Thursday, October 12.  The following streets will be treated:

York Road, Burling Road, Lawton Road, Nuttall Road from Selborne Road to Loudon Road, and North Delaplaine Road from Herrick Road to Longcommon Road.

The purpose of the project is to extend the life of the streets.

Notices are being distributed to residents on the designated streets.  No parking signs will be installed and the contractor will employ a street sweeper to clean the designated streets.  Weather permitting, the rejuvenator will be applied starting at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12.  The substance is clear and dries within a half hour of application. The application process on all designated streets should be complete by noon on Thursday, October 12.  Residents may smell an odor similar to “Pine Sol” after the substance is applied to the pavement, but this odor should dissipate quickly.

Any cars parked on the streets designated for rejuvenation may be towed at the owner’s expense. There is to be no parking at any time during the project, even if it does not appear that there is work being done at your particular location.  This will allow the village engineer and the contractor to inspect the work.  Traffic to and from locations on the designated streets will be restricted during the project.

The asphalt rejuvenator will be applied to the road to add essential oils to the pavement to prolong the life of the surface. The rejuvenator is a Bio-based product made from agricultural oils, primarily soybean, and is an Eco-friendly product that contains no PAH’s (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) or VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds). The rejuvenator has a scent similar to Pine Sol due to the citrus oils in the product.  Once the rejuvenator is placed on the road it will penetrate the surface and dry within 30 to 60 minutes.

Please follow all posted traffic control signs and workers who will be on site during the project.  If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 708-442-3590 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
