What do I need to do to pick up my property?

Found property owner may come in with valid identification. Call 708-447-2127, ext. 293 to make an appointment. Prisoner property owner or their designee may come in with valid identification. Mon - Fri 8:00am - 4:00pm


For property held for investigation or evidence, unless other arrangements are made, all property will be released by appointment only on weekdays from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m., excluding holidays. Property must be released by the Criminal Investigation Division before the owner can come to pick it up. Owners may call 708-447-2127, ext. 261 to inquire.


Firearms that come into the possession of the Police Department will only be released with a Court Order or a Writ of Replevin. The owner needs court order papers signed by a judge. Owners may call 708-447-2127, ext. 261 for more information.
